Our Values

Our values are how we evaluate every ministry, leader, service, and act we do as a house. These values will help us know when we are in alignment with our mission and vision. We believe these values are what the Lord desires in His house.

Presence

We believe God desires to make a dwelling place among His people. We welcome and celebrate the presence of God.

Worship

We behold Jesus in his rightful place and our hearts respond. We join with the worship of heaven.

Pursuit

We are people after God’s heart. We desire God and want to see Him rightly. We want to be a holy people, living in obedience to His Word and Spirit.

Freedom

Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. We pour out the fullness of our love and creativity for His glory.

Passion

We are willing to be undignified in the eyes of man in our worship to God. We lavishly pour out praise and adoration on Jesus.

Fullness

We want to enjoy abundant life in Jesus. We believe the infilling of Holy Spirit gives us access to peace, freedom, understanding, intimacy with Jesus, and gifts that unify the Church and reveal God to the world.

Peace

We acknowledge Jesus as King and trust His leadership. We can rest in his presence and allow Him to move in power.

Core Beliefs & Doctrine

This summary is not intended to cover every doctrine found in Scripture. Rather, it serves as a clarification of essential beliefs, expanding upon what God has already revealed in Encounter House’s core mission and values.

  • The Trinity

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternally existing in perfect unity.

  • Father

We believe in God the Father—eternal, sovereign, and full of love. He is Creator of all things, the source of life, justice, and mercy. Though He is all-powerful and beyond comprehension, He has revealed Himself as a good and approachable Father, inviting us into relationship through His Son. He is the One to whom all creation is accountable, and in His presence is fullness of joy.

  • Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ, is fully God and fully man, He is the Word made flesh. Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, was crucified as the perfect sacrifice for sin, and rose bodily from the dead. Salvation is found in Him alone—by grace through faith—not by our works. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are reconciled to the Father and empowered to walk in newness of life.

  • Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, giving gifts, producing fruit, and empowering the Church to carry out the mission of God. The Spirit convicts, comforts, teaches, and guides us into truth. We affirm the continued operation of spiritual gifts and the fivefold ministry for the building up of the Body.

  • The Scriptures

We believe the Scriptures are the inspired, authoritative Word of God, and the ultimate source of truth for life and faith. It is not just a sacred text but a living guide, revealing God’s heart and His redemptive plan.

  • The Church, Baptism, & Communion

We believe The Church is not a building, but a people—those who trust in Jesus, gather in His name, and live on mission. As a family of faith, we are called to worship, pray, disciple, serve, and go. We are sent into the world to make disciples of all nations, empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry out the Great Commission. We celebrate baptism as an outward sign of inner transformation, and communion as a sacred remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and promised return.

  • Design & Redemption

We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us and give us eternal life. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We understand that we are saved through grace and not by any works of our own. The Bible teaches us that no matter what mistakes we make, God’s love and grace are always available to us. We believe that through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are able to have the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.

  • Satan

We believe Satan is real—a fallen, rebellious spirit who opposes God and seeks to destroy His people. Though he has power, he is defeated through the blood of Jesus and will ultimately face eternal judgment. Christ has given His Church authority to overcome the enemy by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • Return & Eternity

We believe in the return of Jesus, the final judgment, and the renewal of all things. Hell is real, and those who reject God’s grace will be eternally separated from Him—but for those in Christ, there is the promise of eternal life in His presence.

  • The Kingdom of God

We believe the Kingdom of God is both present and coming. Our faith is not passive—we are called to live as Kingdom people, empowered by the Spirit to bring love, justice, healing, and truth into every sphere of life. Until He returns, we proclaim the good news of Jesus, disciple the nations, and live for the glory of God.
